I’m Back! I will Quit Smoking Weed!
Posted by admin on January 10, 2008
Hey everyone, I am back and still dedicated as ever to Quit Smoking Weed!
Guess I better fill everyone in on the last month or so. Looks like my last post was on December 8th. Yikes.
It is a New Year and a fresh start. Many of us want to quit smoking pot in the new year! Good for us! I am going to make 2008 a great year.
I got pretty depressed, and heavily medicated, aka super stoned, from about December 8th through the 20th. I was smoking a lot of weed, keeping weird hours, and sleeping or at least laying down more that 12 hours a day. I felt really guilty about letting myself down - especially because it was the first time I really put a huge amount of effort into ending my marijuana addiction. I got a really bad cold at the time, and was smoking, then coughing, and had super bad mucus and phlegm from all the smoke I was inhaling. A normal person doesn’t smoke or drink when they are sick, and addict does!
I didn’t smoke weed for about 10 days over the holiday Dec 19-28, but smoked on the 29th of December through the 4th of January. I haven’t smoked since the 4th which officially puts me on Day 6 of sober. This is awesome. I have had some great comments while I was away and am still dedicated to this goal. I had some minor relapses and my first major one, but I also accomplished a new record since I began this blog of 10 days sober.
I will be posting some new articles this week on foods helpful for detoxing from addiction. I am sure you will enjoy the. If you would like me to write on a specific topic, please let me know by posting a comment.

dude, good to hear you´re back!!!, i´d like to propose a topic: is marihuana the hardest psicologically addictive substance?, it seems that longtime smokers can never be free at all.

Whoo Hoo!!

Good for you!
My guy and I are still not back on the wagon. We also fell hard, and now I am a bit scared about the quitting process again and it is a bit of a set-back. We aim to smoke today, tomorrow and then Monday will be Sober day 1. I know we can do it, it is just getting over those first few days.
Keep up the great work! I am really glad to see you back.

drives me nuts the stupiditi of the pro-legalization groups, marihuana is not bad- yeah check your lungs, I know a scientist or a cuantum fisic that smokes everyday, -yeah go find him!, -smoking everyday sin not an addiction, -read that sentence 5 times out loud.

I don’t have a problem with any of the pro legalization groups. I think all drugs should be legal. I firmly believe in individual choice, and individual responsibility for those choices.
One of the reasons no one talks about marijuana addiction is because IT IS illegal. Keeping thing out of public / social view by making them illegal makes it difficult for people who need help to get it. It is far easier for an alcoholic to get help than any other type of substance abuser.
I believe that MOST people can consume drugs in a non-destructive manner. For those that realize that their consumption is destructive (like us), the illegality of the drug only worsens the problem because these users will be less likely to talk about or find treatment to their problem.

i agree it should be legalized man, still the attitude of those groups is stupid, is a lie, they automatically don´t see the negative effects of pot, it´s all good 4 them, they smoke everyday but dont consider themselves addicts, always.
And the superficial way we have turned weed into, you americans might not understand, ya smoke dope and watch tv or play playsations, shit like dat, pot is sacred, in old times it was a ceremony, weed has a spirit and possseses whoever abuses her, -tell me about it!!!, if i knew this before i wouldnt have become an addict, in ancient ceremonies one native american indian, mexico, would ask 4 permission to the great spirit, holy earth, to enter the shiva dimension, and permission to leave and not get addicted, and our shit, bob marley, coffeshop culture had made a sacred drug into a totally superficial thing, oh, god, our society is in trouble!!! our stoner friends are comminttinga sin agist shive everytime dey smoke weed and do play sations and tv, and in your society what i say is “strange vodoo shit”, IGNORANCE IN THE BIGGEST SIN.
It´s like if we ate magic mushrooms averyday, kind of, in terms of the level marijuana should have, i mean, do u realize the spirit thing, it´s not vodoo, it´s real, when i smoke a gain in a coupla of years ill do it a ceremony and ask the hily sirit and shiva permission 2 get in and out harmless, we´ve been all wrong, weve been fooled, we have sinned against shiva and she is punishing us for ignorants!!! you might think im crazy, but not.
and dude, please keep one blog, no use for so many topics!!!
grab your balls, u must excurcize shiva from you, and it´s like a malaria disease, i just came off.
good luck and do some reaserch!!!!

Was a long time everyday smoker (aka drug addict, about an eighth a week) who quit 20 days ago. At first, I smoked for depression. Then I realized pot was making it worse- way worse. Had an anxiety attack and have little desire to touch it again. Feel stronger, more confident, more outgoing, smarter, funnier, more relaxed already. I no longer have a cough. Everyday I don’t smoke is a day I get a little stronger. It does wonders for the self-esteem. Am I totally out of the woods? Not exactly, but giving in would mean losing the strength I’ve regained, and that’s worth way more than a few puffs. The thought of losing what gains I’ve made helps me resist temptation. Have had super crazy dreams, but no insomnia or sweats or depression or anything else. If I need something to chill, I have a couple of harmless beers (and I mean two). I have a new lease on life, and surprisingly no regrets. That said, pot is a total waste of everything- time, money, brains, health. If friends encourage you to smoke, they aren’t friends and should be dropped immediately. You will never, ever regret quitting smoking. Do it now! Now! Flush the weed down the toilet this instant, get rid of the paraphenalia, and never look back! The universe will congratulate you! You’re worth it! Yes!

Everyone who smokes too much is stupid and gives pot a bad name. Keep it on a weekend only basis an you will probably be fine. You shouldn’t drink everyday, and the same goes for smoking. Moderation is the key, and all it takes is willpower. I know people who have smoked just on weekends for years, and they are fine. It’s those who do it all the time that run into trouble. Im also interested why people who cant quit marijuana are called addicts, while those who cant quit cigarettes aren’t. Tobacco is more addictive. Just wondering.
