Pleasure does not equal Happiness
Posted by admin on March 19, 2008
I just read an article over at Scientific American regarding cigarette smokers called “Smoking Can’t Buy Happiness“. It helped to clarify that the reason I smoke marijuana is for instant pleasure. All of this short term pleasure, and I supposed it is the “pleasure” I am addicted to, ultimately makes me unhappy in the long run.
I also need to really define happiness on my own terms, so that I can live towards that goal, rather than just trying to quit marijuana. So there ya go…..lots of empty pleasure makes me unhappy. Does anyone else out there experience the same?

I’m so happy to see you back on track again. Know you are not alone as my partner and I have still been struggling.

I feel the same that the instant pleasure is not making us happy in the long run. It makes us tired and angry. Not happy.
Good luck, and again, good to see you back!

YES! is called Pseudo Joy’s. It was actually one of the things preached at the church I attend. One part of the message was about chemical dependency and these pseudo joy’s that are only temporary but our flesh desires them but with the power of the holy spirit you can renouce the chemical dependency/urges and eventually be set free from tempation.
I personally broke my time limit rule today by about 2 hours, a minor setback. I have a ton of weeds to pull outside tomorrow so hopefully I can sustain sobriety until 2pm as planned. On another note, it would be cool if there was a section for users to blog their own quitting expierence - or maybe I haven’t located it yet
