I think the reason behind the mind being altered by heavy marijuana use is simply a change in mindstate. When the user is constantly high, their sense of reality is distorted and life becomes a sort of dreamlike haze. for me the past 2 years have flown by. If you have 1 joint to get you stoned but have a drink to get you drunk I would say the alcohol affects you more.

It is very difficult to stop because it is easy to fall into a depression if you're not distracted or satisfied with your life. Drinking is a good idea in moderaton it is a social distraction (I have have never craved alcohol). I need to stop buying it but it seems impossible to sleep when I am not stoned. Although I am particularly careful with my consumption of alcohol as my father, uncles and grandfather (all on Dad's side) have struggled with alcohol - so I know it is in my blood to abuse substances but I can somehow control the alcohol but not the weed or smokes.
