Day 2 Weed free…I have been smoking for 8 yrs all day everyday. i love the feeling I hate the money i have wasted & the oppertunities that have passed me by,as i do not blame this on weed I am just ready to quit.I just hope this is the right state of mind to be quitting?or to be successfull

This is how “addiction” was once defined to me: anything you cannot stop. This brings a lot of interesting questions into the fold. Are we addicted to breathing, drinking, and eating? Also, what if you really don’t want to stop? I think that if you honestly have no intentions of quitting, don’t deceive yourself, and truthfully think that marijuana is beneficial to your life, then you are not addicted. It’s nice to think that sobriety is for everyone, but unfortunately life is very mundane for some of us. When one thinks of all the incredibly destructive drugs and behaviors out there, marijuana has to be seen as the “lesser evil.” Marijuana is the worst drug out there, next to all the others! I’m not advocating it’s use, just that people shouldn’t feel so guilty and brand themselves as addicts if it is something that keeps them sane and helps them avoid more destructive substances and behaviors.

Definately agree with not smoking all you have left if your really ready to quit. It’s like going to war to be at peace with yourself. Day 5 for me now, despite having to relearn how to sleep and eat again, I feel extremely lucky that my motivation behind quitting was catalyzed by the very same spirit I was sure needed me to smoke to be at peace…the biggest problem with smoking for me now is the exact same problem that made me use in the first place…a fear of not escaping myself. Im no longer in a rush to die and encourage everyone to look at the past and future choices with optimism that they could, respectively, be much worse or may become much better. Gratitude’s what it sounds like…a great-attitude.
