Hi there,

I agree that pot is addictive and that it is more of a psychological addiction. However, I do not believe that it is harmful to everyone who smokes it. I am a long time smoker and mother of two beautiful girls. I smoke a bowl or half a joint every day when they go for their nap and once they are in bed for the evening. I smoked substaintailly more before kids. I made it through college with excellent grades, all the while smoking pot. People can judge me and say whatever they like about my habit, but I truely believe that it makes me a better mother. It’s what I need to take the edge off of a stressful day. I agree that yes I am addicted and often look forward to my relief at the end of the day. But, I do not believe that it inhibts my ability to be a good mother or a functioning memeber of society. But, I am very happy to see this site on the internet. Not that I am interested in quitting, but I know people who are. I found this to be a great read and very well laid out. So, thank you for sharing this with those out there who need the help. Both of my pregnancies and through out the full year that i breast fed both of my babies I found very difficult, but quit cold turkey both times. I wish I had had some of this information at the time to help. Keep at it and help to educate the masses. Pot smokers should not be condemed, but supported if they want to quit.

finally, the time has come to stop smoking weed. its probably one of the hardest things i have to deal with. i used to smoke before athletic events, parties, and sleep. basically my whole life was overcome by it. it took a semi-intervention from my family. it has kept me from completing the nursing program, and i cant seem to enjoy life without it. its been two days, and i have incredible urges. but my family and our future is more important than getting high for a while. i hope i can…

My boyfriend recently informed me that he is addicted. i knew he smoked but didn’t think it was that bad. He says he needs time to work this out of his system and if i could help by letting him call me with his update on how long he’s been pot free. It has been 3 weeks and he hasn’t even gone a day without. I read everything I can find and i know it’s hard. He has SOOO many reasons to quit and it was his decision to quit. What can I do? He says he needs to do this alone. I have not seen him in 3 weeks and only talked to him 2 times. our conversations end with each of us a bit upset. I say things he doesn’t want to hert but i know he needs to hear it. He was a user for 20 years and quit for 5 years and thinks he can quit the same way now. He’s not used to having someone in his life and forgets that i am here to support comfort and help him through anything. I love him but feel detached and i worry about him so much. There has to be another way I can support him. i fear the more excuses he comes up with as to why he hasn’t quit “yet” the less chances he has of actually quitting. He has so much to loose if he doesn’t start quitting; and i am the least of them. Any advice out there.

I am a mother of one, pregnant with my second.. I quit with my first cold turkey and it seemed so easy. But with all the extra stress I carry now its really hard not to just smoke a joint now.. I know I shouldn’t and I really can’t and that’s the only thing that helps me. I suffer from anxiety attacks, and depression, and I’ve been prescribed drug after drug. Nothing helps more than weed. So now I’m completely sober, and my anxiety is at its peak and I can’t help but queestion myself if its harder on the baby to have a stressed out mommy, or a high one? I only have a month left.. and I pray everynight that I can get over the urge to want to smoke.. my fiance still smokes, and I have broughg my will power up enough to handle him smoking.. I just have to keep my hands on my belly and know its all for better.. this website kinda helps take the urge off.. but u can’t throw away a fiance like u can a friend, there needs to be something on here for us mommies..

Day 9 – Marijuana Dreaming and Weed Nightmares!

Another busy and productive day today, with a good sleep last night. Last night was the first night that I had vivid dreams after quitting marijuana.
